Whoever said that dogs are man’s best friend, did they live in Canada’s most populous province?
International Dog Day is celebrated on August 26. At OntarioBets.com, we took a break from reviewing Ontario casino apps because we wanted to know which Canadian provinces love their dogs a bit more than the others. We used a scoring system that factors in Google Trends total search interest scores for “dogs,” “dog adoption,” and “dog park,” then accounted for percentage of dog ownership in each province, according to Pet Valu Canada Inc.
Rank | Province | Total Score |
1 | Alberta | 293 |
2 | New Brunswick | 273 |
3 | British Columbia | 261 |
4 | Ontario | 215 |
5 | Manitoba | 212 |
Ontario ranked fourth among Canadian provinces when it came to search interest scores related to our furry, four-legged companions. The home of legal Ontario online casino options had a search interest total of 215 in total.
Overall, Ontario’s search interest score of 215 ranked well behind Canada’s leaders in canine companionship, with Alberta (293 total score), New Brunswick (273) and British Columbia (261) leading the way in the Great White North. Manitoba finished with a total search interest score of 212 to grab the fifth and final spot on the list.

It seems that Ontario can take a page out of their smaller provincial brethren when it comes to dog interest. The country’s most populous province is slacking behind a few others when it comes to showing some love for man’s best friend.
At least Ontarians can take pride in knowing that they didn’t finish dead last among the top five provinces on our list. Stick with OntarioBets.com for more lifestyle stories as well as continuing sports coverage, including a comprehensive guide to NFL betting in Ontario as the season gets closer.
