At OntarioBets.com, as part of our Ontario sports betting coverage, we’re keeping a close eye on Conners to see how he fares at the first major of 2025.
With just two career wins under his belt (both at the Valero Texas Open), Conners' outright odds above are far from overwhelming. But while heavy weights like Scottie Scheffler, Jon Rahm and Hideki Matsuyama have captured the last four Green Jackets (Scheffler won in '22 and '24), the Masters has had its share of longshot winners.
Conners' odds at Caesars Ontario Sportsbook for instance (along with BetMGM and bet365) sit at +5000, the same pre-tourney odds 2016 champion Danny Willett and 2012 champion Bubba Watson were saddled with before their lives changed forever later in the week. Those odds are also much shorter than other modern shockers at Augusta, including Charl Schwartzel in 2011 (+10000), Angel Cabrera in 2009 (+12500) and Trevor Immelman in 2008 (+15000).
So is Conners priced appropriately? We tend to think so, and there may in fact be value in a responsible wager on the Canadian this week. Willett and Watson's best respective finishes at Augusta before their wins were T38 (Willett) and T20 (Watson). Conners (as you'll see below) has much better course history and experience to lean on.

While the last two years weren't his best, Conners has three top-10's at Augusta since 2020. That's the same number of top-10's as Rahm (who, yes, of course won in 2023 – but is priced far differently than Conners as a result). Players the likes of Matsuyama, Patrick Cantlay and even this week's co-favorite Rory McIlroy can't say the same about their recent course history, so don't count out our man Conners just yet.
With his ball-striking ability and history at Augusta, it's worth keeping an eye on Conners throughout the weekend. And an early sign that may prove it's his week? Monday's practice session at the Masters saw heavy rainfall, which will soften the greens. Conners is a tee-to-green talent, but can struggle with the putter, the trait that has largely limited him when it comes to capturing more victories. Like Matsuyama – another average putter relative to his ball-striking – rain will only help players like Conners get in the mix over the course of the week.
What Other Canadians Are Playing The Masters?
It wouldn't be much of a Canadian-tiered Masters preview if we didn't quickly mention others in the field. Conners' countrymen Nick Taylor (the 2024 Canadian Open winner) and one-time PGAT winner Taylor Pendrith are in the field, as is 2003 champion and 2024 International Presidents Cup captain Mike Weir.
At DraftKings Ontario Sportsbook, Conners (+100) is the favorite to be low Canadian, followed by Pendrith (+225), Taylor (+300) and finally the 54-year-old Weir (+3500).
