As the dog days of summer fade, Canada’s most populous province looks forward to the foliage of fall.
That realization means that few provinces in Canada are better positioned to capitalize on the proverbial changing of the seasons than Ontario. It’s one of the best regions in the country for fall foliage, thanks to the state’s varied landscapes from the eastern flank with Quebec west toward Thunder Bay.
At OntarioBets.com, we took a break from reviewing Ontario casino apps because we wanted to see how excited Canadians are for the autumn season. We ranked provinces for their interest for “fall,” according to Google Trends. The search was conducted from August 19 to 26, 2024. We ranked the provinces based on search interest scores compared to other topics.
Rank | Provinces | Search Interest Score |
1 | Nova Scotia | 100 |
2 | Ontario | 83 |
3 | Prince Edward Island | 81 |
4 | Newfoundland and Labrador | 78 |
5 | Saskatchewan | 77 |
Nationally, Ontario’s search interest score of 83 for the autumn season ranks second overall. That’s only behind Nova Scotia, which had a search interest score of 100 compared to other topics, according to our research.
Rounding out the top five were Prince Edward Island (81), Newfoundland and Labrador (78) and Saskatchewan (77).
For Ontario residents, it seems like the return of fall foliage and Tim Horton’s seasonal lattes – and perhaps the thought of NHL games being closer to Ontario sports betting options in the 2024-25 season – are enough to inspire a spike in online searches for fall. Whatever the case, the third season of the calendar year brings Canada’s most populous province near the top of the national leaderboard in 2024.
Now, it’s time to sit back and enjoy the final weeks of the CFL regular season, as the Toronto Argonauts look to take home the Grey Cup for the 2024 season,.
Oddsmakers from bet365 Ontario Sportsbook have the franchise at +450 to do so, ranking third out of nine teams on the worldwide sports betting goliath’s odds board as of Aug. 27.
