When it comes to Canada’s most populous province, and the home of Ontario online casinos, not all towns and cities are created equally. Certain localities in the land of more than 16 million people fall by the wayside when it comes to general name recognition.

OntarioBets.com wondered which big Ontario municipalities tend to be forgotten the most – we determines that by consulting a quiz on Sporacle.com about which cities are the 10 largest in the province, with respondents trying to fill in the blanks on their computers within a time limit. We ranked the top 10 most forgotten populous municipalities in Ontario, based on what percentage of people remembered each Ontario city.

Among the most forgotten places in the province of Ontario are York region hotspot Markham, which was correctly guessed 65.8% of the time in a recent Sporcle quiz.

Which Ontario Municipality Is Forgotten The Most?

While Markham took home the top spot on our list of the most forgotten cities in Ontario, with quiz takers filling in that blank only 65.8% of the time, other leaders in the clubhouse like Vaughn (66.7%), Brampton (79.9%), Kitchener (82.5%) and Windsor (85.8%) weren’t far behind.

Respondents at the quiz website were better at remembering Mississauga, which was filled in 89.3% of the time, then London (90.7%), Hamilton (92.6%), Ottawa (97.4%) and Toronto (99.6%)

Of the 10, Toronto has the lion’s share of population with about 2.9 million, according to World Population Review – and most of them are hoping Toronto Maple Leafs Stanley Cup odds go from a decent wager to a reality for the team's long-suffering fans.

The other major cities that made the cut include Canada’s capital city of Ottawa (1.021 million people), Mississauga (734,843), Brampton (725,022), Hamilton (565,225) London (413,887), Markham (377,791) and Vaughn (337,273), while Kitchener (257,635) and Windsor (227,657) were the smallest of the 10 to make this year’s list in the province.
