Edey’s draft stock ranges pretty widely at the moment, going from No. 12 to the Oklahoma City Thunder (The Ringer) to No. 24 and the New York Knicks (Gary Parrish of CBSSports.com).
In between, you’ll find Edey coming off the board at No. 15 to the Miami Heat (NBA Draft Room), No. 17 to the Lakers (On3.com, Kyle Boone of CBSSports.com and ESPN’s Jonathan Givony and Jeremy Woo), No. 19 to the Raptors (NBADraft.net) and No. 23 to the Bucks (Tankathon.com).
One way or another, Edey’s name will be called by NBA Commissioner Adam Silver during Thursday’s opening round of the 2024 NBA Draft at Barclay’s Center in Brooklyn, adding a new chapter for one of the most dominant centers in men’s basketball in recent years.
Edey averaged 22.3 points and 12.9 rebounds per game as a junior for the Boilermakers in the 2022-23 season. He scored even more this past season, at 25.2 ppg, and though his rebounding average fell slightly to 12.2, that was still tops in the Big Ten and second in the nation, behind Akron’s Enrique Freeman (12.9 rpg).
