Travis Green takes over behind the Sens bench, and the former 14-year pro hopes his third stint as a head coach is the charm. He’s not the only new face in the Canadian capital, as the Senators also acquired goalie Linus Ullmark from the Boston Bruins.
DraftKings Ontario Sportsbook has set the Sens’ point total this season at 90.5. The over is a slight favorite at -120, and the under is at -110. Their odds of making the playoffs are +125.
While Green and Ullmark will play critical roles in the Senators’ hopes, so too will the team’s captain. Left wing Brady Tkachuk is coming off his best season in the NHL as the 25-year-old posted career highs in goals with 37.

Tkachuk only plays the Avs and Stars twice a year since they are in the Western Conference, but he seems to take advantage of the opportunities against the conference’s best teams. He also has shined against the Lightning, an Atlantic Division opponent that has reached the playoffs in 10 of the past 11 seasons and won the Stanley Cup in 2020 and 2021.
For the 2024-25 season, the Stars are the second choice to win the Stanley Cup at Caesars Ontario Sportsbook. Their odds of +900 are only longer than those of the current favorite Edmonton Oilers, who have odds of +600.

Tkachuk’s worst career scoring average is against Florida’s other NHL team, the defending Stanley Cup champs. It may not help that his brother Matthew is a key player for the Panthers. His older brother has scored 197 points in the past two seasons in the Sunshine State.
Sports Interaction Ontario Sportsbook lists Matthew Tkachuk +3500 for Hart Trophy odds this season. Brady Tkachuk’s odds are +15000. Edmonton Oilers superstar Connor McDavid is the favorite at +150.

Tkachuk’s best chance to improve will come against his divisional foes. His career scoring mark of 0.79 points per game is higher than his average against five divisional foes. He has been efficient against the Bolts, but if he can step up his game against others in the Atlantic, then the son of former NHL great and 500-goal scorer Keith Tkachuk may be in line for his best season ever.
The Panthers are the favorites to come out on top of the division this season at BetMGM Ontario Sportsbook. Their odds of +225 are slightly shorter than the Toronto Maple Leafs’ +270.
Ottawa is considered a long shot to win the division, which it last accomplished in the 2005-06 season. The Sens’ odds of +1100 are the third longest at BetMGM, with only the Buffalo Sabres at +1600 and the Montreal Canadiens at +10000 having longer odds.
As for the bigger picture, if Ottawa makes it back to the playoffs at last then their Stanley Cup odds will be a popular wager at Ontario sportsbooks.
