Connor Hellebuyck is the clear favorite for the Vezina award in 2025 but anything can happen and the odds have shifted heavily in favor him.

Connor Hellebuyck, the Winnipeg Jets' goaltender, is the frontrunner for the 2025 Vezina Trophy. Having previously secured the Vezina in 2020 and 2024, Hellebuyck's exceptional performance this season has solidified his position as the favorite, with odds currently at -20000 (the highest this season). In the recent 4 Nations Face-Off tournament, Hellebuyck represented Team USA, delivering standout performances that helped them get to the championship game.

Darkhorse Candidate for the Vezina Trophy

There's a large gap between the favorite and the dark horses this year, but we are still keeping our eye on Logan Thompson, Filip Gustavsson, Mackenzie Blackwood, and Andrei Vasilevskiy.

Logan Thompson, the goaltender for the Washington Capitals, has emerged as a strong contender for the Vezina Trophy this season. As of March 2025, he maintains a 31-4-5 record, a 2.30 goals-against average, and a .917 save percentage. 
Despite his impressive performance this season, Thompson was controversially excluded from Team Canada's roster for the 4 Nations Face-Off tournament, reportedly due to personal grievances from coaching staff.

Filip Gustavsson

Filip Gustavsson has been one of the main reasons for the resurgence in Minnesota. Mainly, he has kept them alive in the playoff race despite not having star winger Kirill Kaprizov for a few months due to a lower-body injury. Gustavsson is 28-16-4 with a 2.47 goals-against average and a save percentage of .918, which is a significant improvement from last season, when he went 20-18-4 with a 3.06 goals-against average and a save percentage of .899. 

Mackenzie Blackwood

Since his trade from the San Jose Sharks in December 2024, Blackwood has revitalized his performance, achieving a 19-8-3 record with a 2.22 goals-against average and a .917 save percentage over 30 appearances. Despite his impressive statistics, his Vezina Trophy odds remain long at +8000, reflecting the stiff competition from frontrunners like Connor Hellebuyck. 

Andrei Vasilevskiy

As of mid-March 2025, Andrei Vasilevskiy's odds to win the Vezina Trophy have lengthened to +3500, reflecting a shift from earlier in the season. Despite this, Vasilevskiy has demonstrated strong performances, including a 28-save shutout against the Los Angeles Kings on January 31, 2025.
