Aaron Rodgers had 3,897 passing yards and 28 touchdowns in 17 games played in 2024 for the New York Jets, who went 5-12. It’s no wonder that many around the NFL expect the veteran quarterback to try to make it back on the field for a 21st season in 2025.
That path will take the former Green Bay Packers’ star to a new locale, however. Rodgers and the Jets formally cut ties on Sunday, with the 41-year-old being cut loose after two seasons.
OntarioBets.com, as part of our Ontario sports betting coverage, broke down the odds on where Rodgers goes next as the long-in-the-tooth quarterback embarks on the next chapter of his long professional football career.
Team | Odds | Percent Chance |
Pittsburgh Steelers | +400 | 20.0% |
Las Vegas Raiders | +475 | 17.4% |
Minnesota Vikings | +475 | 17.4% |
Cleveland Browns | +900 | 10.0% |
New York Giants | +900 | 10.0% |
San Francisco 49ers | +1500 | 6.3% |
The Field | +700 | 12.5% |
Retirement | +1000 | 9.1% |
Rodgers, who joined the Jets after 18 seasons with the Green Bay Packers, made one brief appearance in the 2023 season before tearing his Achilles and missing the rest of the season. And though his numbers were decent in 2024, the Jets still went nowhere.
Several teams that draw Ontario NFL betting interest might be seeking a veteran presence under center in 2025 and could check in on Rodgers’ plans. But there’s also a shot that a surprise team swoops in and lands the Cal Golden Bears alum.
The top landing spot for Rodgers on our odds board is Pittsburgh. We give the Steelers a 20% chance in our exclusive odds – that would translate to +400 in American odds at Ontario sportsbook apps if they offered this wager. Last year’s starter in Pittsburgh, Russell Wilson, could be out of the picture.
The Las Vegas Raiders and Minnesota Vikings are also in the mix on our board, at +475 apiece.
Other QB-needy clubs such as the Cleveland Browns and New York Giants are among the other likely landing spots for the four-time Associated Press MVP. The team closest to Rodgers’ hometown of Chico, California, the San Francisco 49ers, are longshots to land him at +1500.
There’s also a chance that the enigmatic QB, who has never shied away from marching to the beat of his own drum, decides to hang up the single-strap Riddell helmet for good. That’s why we give him +1000 odds of calling it a day and retiring from the NFL.
But it seems likely that Rodgers still sees more football in his immediate future after a two-year run of gridiron mediocrity at the Meadowlands. But he won’t be around to affect New York Jets betting odds in the 2025 season.
