In an increasingly disconnected world when it comes to interpersonal social dynamics, it’s worth wondering how anyone is expected to meet their special someone when there’s little in the way of traditional social connection to be found.
In Canada, that quandary of modern living is less of an issue in certain provinces compared to others. Places such as Nova Scotia, Ontario and Alberta appear to have cracked the code on providing solid living situations for single men and women.
National Singles Day is Nov. 11. To see which provinces are ideal for singles, OntarioBets.com took time out of our Ontario sportsbooks coverage because we wanted to rank the top five provinces for singles in Canada. We created a scoring system by factoring in data of the single population by province from Statista.com, plus search interest scores from Google Trends for “dating apps” – with data from searches conducted between Sept. 29, 2024 and Oct. 29, 2024.
Rank | Province | Total Score |
1 | Nova Scotia | 146.5 |
2 | Ontario | 146.43 |
3 | Alberta | 144.72 |
4 | Manitoba | 140.79 |
5 | British Columbia | 140.25 |
If you’re still looking for a life partner, you could do worse than uprooting your life to relocate to a place like the Maritimes or Ontario. Nova Scotia ranked atop the Canadian standings when it came to the best places for singles in 2024, with a total score of 146.5.
Nova Scotia eked out a win over the country’s most populous province in that category, as the home of Ontario online casinos finished with a total score of 146.43 to place second. Alberta (144.72), Manitoba (140.79) and British Columbia (140.25) were the next closest overall.
Still, nowhere in Canada provides the attractions that single men and women in the Great White North are looking for that Nova Scotia does. The rugged province on the country’s eastern front beats out a slew of others for the top spot in 2024 for those still looking for a romantic partner in their lives.
