One of the top young guards in the NBA enters the final year of his three-year, $51.840 million contract with the Toronto Raptors in 2024-25. That player is 25-year-old Gary Trent Jr., and his destination could be of interest for Ontario betting sites.

Given that next season is Trent’s contract year and Toronto is rebuilding, now might be the time for Raptors general manager Bobby Webster to try to make a move involving the eighth-year guard out of Duke.

OntarioBets.com wanted to see where Trent will land for the 2024-25 NBA season. We developed these Gary Trent Jr. free agent odds because he isn’t expected to strike a deal with the Raptors:

Favorites to Land Gary Trent Jr. Next

As of July 16, rumors are swirling that the Los Angeles Lakers have their eyes zoned in on Trent. They have some extra salary cap space after LeBron James restructured his contract. We rate the Lakers at +250 odds (a 33.3% implied probability).

We now have the youthful Orlando Magic as the second-most likely team to land Trent this offseason. The Eastern Conference playoff team from this past season has +450 odds (an 18.2% chance).

There is one new team on our board: The Milwaukee Bucks. Several outlets have reported that the Bucks (+500 on our board) are interested in signing Trent. Since the signing window opened, Milwaukee las lost guard Malik Beasley, who signed a one-year deal with the Detroit Pistons. Trent is one of the top 30 free agents in this offseason, according to CBS Sports, and is one of four unsigned players on that list.

The Toronto Raptors have +100000 odds to win the 2024-25 NBA title at Caesars Ontario Sportsbook. Those are the longest odds on the board, tied with several other teams. The defending champion Boston Celtics are favored at +300 odds.

Other Possible Destinations For Trent

The Sacramento Kings are at +750 odds on our board to land Trent, as the Western Conference risers look to take the next step in their evolution. The Brooklyn Nets have moved to +800 in our odds and the Raptors have +2100 odds to retain the 25-year-old Trent.

Some NBA franchise is about to land a player that has accumulated 15.8 win shares and a 13.4 player efficiency rating, according to basketball-reference.com statistics. That is a testament to Trent’s growth on and off the court since he joined the league as a second-round pick out of Duke in the 2018 NBA Draft.

Whatever the case, it looks like the Raptors might be set to move on from their star guard before the start of the 2024-25 NBA regular season. See our guide to the Toronto Raptors in Ontario for further information.
