Best Grey Cup Bets For Winnipeg vs. Montreal CFL Matchup

The 110th annual Grey Cup is this Sunday, Nov. 19, providing Ontario betting sites customers with a great wagering opportunity. The Montreal Alouettes will face off against the Winnipeg Blue Bombers in front of a sold-out crowd at Tim Hortons Field in Hamilton.

Last year the Blue Bombers had a chance of capturing three consecutive CFL championships, but they fell short at the hands of the Toronto Argonauts. But thanks to a shocking upset last weekend, the Argos were ousted from the playoffs by the Alouettes, who forced nine turnovers en route to a 38-17 East Division final victory.

For their part, the Blue Bombers – led by presumptive CFL MVP quarterback Zach Collaros – made their way to the finals with a decisive 24-13 win over the BC Lions.

Best Prop Bet For Grey Cup

Winnipeg’s Brady Oliveira led the CFL in rushing with 1,534 yards, averaging 5.9 yards per carry. Montreal’s strength is with its defence, but the Alouettes have proven more adept at defending the pass, allowing the second fewest yards per game through the air in the regular season (238.7 ypg). They’re in the middle of the pack against the run (110.4 per game).

What’s more, in two games against the Alouettes during the regular season, Oliveira eclipsed 100 yards both times — running for a total of 239 yards on 38 carries. So Brady Oliveira over 87.5 rushing yards is a solid Grey Cup prop bet with Bet365 Ontario Sportsbook.

The Blue Bombers are favoured and are expected to maintain a healthy lead. If they do, they’ll look to their bell cow back to control the clock with the ground game. And there’s value to be had in this yardage total at Bet365. At DraftKings, Oliveira’s rushing total is set at 92.5.

Best Grey Cup Spread Bet

Don’t overthink it. The Blue Bombers are the better team.

During the regular season Winnipeg boasted both the top offense and defence in the CFL. This will be the team’s fourth appearance in a row at the Grey Cup championship game and the Blue Bombers only lost to the Argos by a single point in 2022. DraftKings Ontario Sportsbook has Winnipeg -7.5 against the spread, the best number available as of Thursday morning.

However, if you’d like to back the Allouettes and their dominating defence, then head to Caesars Sportsbook, where Montreal is getting 8.5 points.

Grey Cup Over/Under Pick

Eight of the past nine Blue Bombers games have hit the over. On the other hand, the Alouettes have gone over in only two of their past nine. These trends may seem to balance themselves out, but in matchups against teams with a winning record, the over/under has trended in the opposite direction for Montreal. In the past seven Alouettes games against teams above .500, the point total has gone over five times.

We like the over 47 points total at NorthStar Bets Ontario Sportsbook.

There are more reasons to like this number. The Grey Cup in recent years has been a high scoring affair, with totals of 47 and 58 over the past two years. Looking back even further, the average total for the past 10 Grey Cups has been 52.6. This might not tell us anything about the two teams taking the field on Sunday, but it does suggest the scoreboard is primed to see some big numbers.
