By Christopher Boan
Fact Checked by Jim Tomlin

There are no NFL franchises in Canada, but many of the 32 teams, all in the United States, have amassed quite a following up north. The Buffalo Bills of the AFC East are among the teams with the most fans in Canada.

Luckily for Bills fans in Canada, OntarioBets.com maintains a Buffalo Bills betting page dedicated to the franchise.

Using an NFL team quiz on Sporacle.com, OntarioBets.com found the average percentage of times users correctly named the teams within each NFL division. We then ranked the four most recognized NFL divisions based on the average percentage of recognition each division had.

Which NFL Divisions Are Most Recognized By Canadians?

Overall, the AFC and NFC East were the top divisions in the league, each with correct responses above 90% as far as people being to identify all four teams in each division. That beat out the NFC and AFC North, which finished with correct scores of 87.6% and 86.6%, respectively.

In addition to the Bills, the AFC East is home to the Miami Dolphins, New York Jets and New England Patriots. Check out our New York Jets betting guide, which is debuting this season for you at OntarioBets.com.

Unsurprisingly, the NFC North is home to some of the most popular teams in Canada, such as the Minnesota Vikings, Detroit Lions, Chicago Bears and Green Bay Packers. The AFC North is home to four more NFL stalwarts: The Pittsburgh Steelers, Cleveland Browns, Baltimore Ravens and Cincinnati Bengals.

We have added a Minnesota Vikings betting guide for the 2024-25 NFL season.

According to a survey by Statista.com, the Bills are the most popular NFL franchise in Ontario, while the Seattle Seahawks take the top spot in British Columbia and Alberta. The Las Vegas Raiders have the most fans in Manitoba and Saskatchewan, the Kansas City Chiefs lead the way in Quebec and the New England Patriots are the team of choice in Canada’s maritime provinces.

When it comes to the four divisions that Canadians know best, bet365 Ontario Sportsbook has the Bills (+170), Philadelphia Eagles (-135), Ravens (+125) and Detroit Lions (+130) as favorites in their respective races for first place. The Packers (+200) and Vikings (+950) are second and fourth in the NFC North, respectively.

In Week 1, Bet365 has the Bills as a six-point home favorite over the Arizona Cardinals and the Vikings are a one-point road favorite over the New York Giants in games on Sept. 8. The Packers are a 2.5-point underdog against the Eagles in a game set for Sept. 6 in Brazil.
